Philips is a leader in health and medical products for medical professionals, including MRI innovations, CT scanners, and other medical solutions.
Now, Philips brings this passion for leading-edge technology to the consumer home and corporate office in Singapore.
The Philips AeraSense technology tracks real-time indoor air quality with an accuracy that can be benchmarked against professional sensing equipment.
By accurately sensing the PM2.5 (airborned particulate matter at 2.5 microns, or 2.5/1,000th of an mm), it enables the AUTO Mode to speed up or slow down the operation when necessary. This maximises filter life, while keeping everyone protected.
You can connect your Philips AC3259 to the Air Matters App (downloadable from the Apple Store or Android Play).
This allows you to check the room’s Indoor Air Quality and compare with outdoor values, and control your Philips air purifier’s settings and fan speed. You can also be notified when the air quality worsens, or when the filter needs changing. You can also get health advisories on the app.
Philips Air Purifiers’ first line of defence is the pre-filter which removes all the larger particles that would otherwise clog up the main filters.
This pre-filter is washable, thus keeping filter costs affordable.
This filter removes odours (like smoke smell) and various VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds, like glue during renovation).
The activated carbon is enhanced with a special coating to absorb formaldehyde. The thick carbon granules contain micro-pores with a combined surface area equivalent to 17 football fields – a lot more than common carbon prefilters.
The Philips 3000 series does not use ionising technology, so no ozone is generated. It also does not generate hydroxyl radicals (OH Radicals).
The panel will show the actual PM2.5 levels in the room. In addition, the colour-ring will slowly fade from blue (healthy) to red (unhealthy).
If someone at home is having sneezing or coughing due to allergens in the air, turn on the ALLERGEN Mode to effectively clean up the air fast.
An air purifier is only as good as its filter – and once a filter is used up, it needs to be replaced, but not any sooner. Philips’ air cleaner will alert you based on actual air contaminants, not just operation time.
Turn down the speed to 1 (Sleep/Silent Mode) for a quiet, comfortable sleep even as it continues to keep the air clean. Panel lights can also be turned off.
Philips air purifiers are certified or tested by AHAM, ECARF and Airmid.
Philips is also listed by Singapore’s National Environmental Agency list of air purifiers for haze use.
